Hike & Write: a new writing adventure with Kate Gray.
I will listen to what you say.
You and I can turn and look
at the silent river and wait. We know
the current is there, hidden; and there
are comings and goings from miles away
that hold the stillness exactly before us.
What the river says, that is what I say.
~from William Stafford’s “Ask Me”
Rain or shine, meet other writers at the Sandy River Delta, walk slowly enough to fill up your senses while traveling together on the flat path to Maya Lim’s Confluence Project, the bird blind. Take notes, write lines, explore the confluence of rivers with your wild sensibility. (Other locations scheduled soon.) Then, meet at a local eatery, write more, share your writing, and receive specific, supportive feedback from Kate.
Who: Writers of all levels of experience. Anyone wanting to get outside and write as the weather changes. Only 10 spaces available.
When: Saturday, October 28, 9am – 2pm
Where: Sandy River Delta/Confluence Project (Click HERE for directions.) Total walking mileage: 2.4 miles roundtrip. After the walk, we’ll meet at McMenamin’s Edgefield to continue writing and to offer feedback using the Gateless Method to each other.
